Location: Alpha, NJ
Status: Unknown Alpha, NJ was founded in 1911 and named after the Alpha Portland Cement Company. The whole town was built around this cement plant. Alpha has roughly 2600 residents and is located in the southern part of Warren County, NJ. Its total size is about 1.8 square miles. The cement industry had great interest in this area due to the abundance of high quality limestone deposits found here. With the introduction of the quarry and cement plant, business boomed in the earlier part of the 20th century.
