Status: Abandoned

Many stories surround Demon’s Alley. Satanic cults and ritualistic mass suicides are just a couple. The way this neighborhood was so abruptly abandoned by its inhabitants raises questions as to how or why. The homes were left furnished, belongings were left behind, and toys were strewn about in their yards. The homes have since then been subjected to vandalism and arson, which actually left one in a pile of rubble. Apparently the fake painted on window shades on the boards didn’t fool anyone into thinking people lived here.

Through my own research and from stories I’ve gathered from others, the only sound explanation I have been able to come up with regarding these homes was that the Newark Watershed bought the property, thus forcing these homeowners to find a new place to live. The signs reading “Property of Newark Watershed, No Trespassing” don’t really leave much else to be speculated.

Unfortunately, all of the houses of Demon’s Alley have been burned down. Today, nothing is left of these houses except for charred foundations, leaving nothing to see at this once popular “weird” location.
