Many people who’ve been to the Palisades Center Mall in Nyack, NY don’t know that the mall was built around a small cemetery. Yes, it’s entirely true. Near the main parking garage of the mall on the hill is the Mount Moor Cemetery.

According to the sign by the entrance, it was a cemetery for “coloreds”, including war veterans.

It’s very odd to look at the cemetery and see the bright red “Target” sign looming above the headstones.
